Our story

Founded in 2018, Multilateral was created to help address complex, global challenges that cannot be solved through conventional thinking alone. Our work is focused on civilisation-level wicked problems, including climate action, international trade, quality compliance and data authority.

This purpose has shaped the way we have built our strategy, designed our services and approached the opportunities created by emerging technology. We do not view technology as an end in itself. Instead, we help organisations identify practical, sustainable pathways to adopt new technology in ways that create value without causing unnecessary or unsustainable disruption.

Our approach is guided by five core principles:

In 2026, Multilateral is focused on two connected opportunities: the introduction of AI Agents, and the optimisation of AI Agent benefits through genuine collaboration across digital ecosystems.

This focus is centred on two important questions:

How will AI value human contribution in a collaborative ecosystem?

How will humans value AI contribution in a collaborative ecosystem?

By exploring these questions, Multilateral helps organisations understand how AI, data and human expertise can work together in ways that are practical, trusted and aligned to sustainable impact.

  • Grant Lenaarts

    CEO

    Grant Lenaarts is the Founder and CEO of Multilateral Group. He works at the intersection of behavioural insight, data, digitalisation and impact, helping organisations better understand human behaviour and apply responsible technology to complex social, economic and environmental challenges.

    Grant’s work focuses on the use of behavioural data to support better decision-making, improve transparency and unlock more responsible approaches to digital transformation. He has contributed to international conversations on digitalisation, sustainable development and impact, including as keynote speaker at the Geneva Rethinking Finance Collaborative’s Futures Fair for Business and Finance.

    With a strong interest in aligning technology, investment and measurable impact, Grant brings a practical and future-focused perspective to the opportunities and risks created by digital change. His approach emphasises responsible innovation, sustainable outcomes and the use of data and AI agents to create value for communities, organisations and broader society.

  • Andrew Walton

    GENERAL MANAGER

    Andrew Walton is a change management consultant and founder of Multilateral Group. His work focuses on helping organisations think differently, solve complex business challenges and create practical consumer-focused solutions.

    With experience across change management, strategy, organisational culture, design, innovation, training and development, Andrew brings a broad, practical perspective to business improvement and transformation. His approach combines applied insight, creative problem-solving and a strong focus on helping people and organisations move from ideas to action.

    Andrew is suited to environments where organisations need fresh thinking, clearer direction and practical support to deliver change. He works with stakeholders to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities and develop solutions that are grounded, achievable and aligned to business and customer needs.

    HEAD OF QUALITY & GOVERNANCE

    Duncan Kinnaird is an experienced management professional specialising in business operations, governance, resilience and practical strategy execution. Duncan brings a disciplined, outcomes-focused approach to helping organisations strengthen performance, improve decision-making and build the capabilities required to thrive in changing operating environments.

    Duncan supports organisations to move from intent to practical action by aligning strategy, governance, capability planning and benefits realisation. His approach focuses on creating clear pathways, trusted measures and fit-for-purpose operating models that enable leaders to understand where they are, where they need to be, and what actions will deliver meaningful impact.

    He helps clients establish practical frameworks, action plans and decision-support measures that turn complexity into usable business intelligence.

    With a strong focus on clarity, structure and practical implementation, Duncan works with organisations seeking to improve operational maturity, strengthen service delivery, align leadership teams and realise measurable benefits from strategic and operational change.

  • Chistine Housel

    HEAD OF PARTNERSHIPS & ETHICS

    Christine Housel is a Geneva-based senior executive and advisor with extensive experience across international, ecumenical and ethics-focused organisations. She is a Management Advisor with BPUR International and an AI ethics advisor for Multilateral Group.

    Christine has held senior roles across organisations including the World Student Christian Federation, Globethics, the World Council of Churches, Nanjing Union Theological Seminary and ACT Alliance. Her work spans ethics, international engagement, partnership development, social impact and responsible technology.

    With a Master of Divinity from Yale University, Christine brings a values-led and globally informed perspective to organisational leadership, ethical innovation and cross-sector collaboration. She is particularly well suited to initiatives that require thoughtful engagement across governance, ethics, technology and human-centred impact..
